Scooped Scarab- Onthophagus hecate - Onthophagus - male

Scooped Scarab- Onthophagus hecate - Onthophagus - Male
Fontenelle Forest, Bellevue, Sarpy County, Nebraska, USA
June 17, 2009
Size: approx. 3/8"
This beetle was photographed in wet soil near the edge of a lake. After being photographed it disappeared under a some dung and could not be found again. It seems to match the photos in the Guide of Scooped Scarab (Onthophagus hecate). We think this might be a major male. Can anyone help with ID? Thanks!
