We would suggest
a running crab spider in the Philodromidae

it has an interesting look. It looks like there are tiny little red spots all over it.

Yes, but a better photograph is greatly to be desired. It would appear that this one has suffered "death by oversharpening", which distorts the appearance of fine details.

Looking at the posterior of the abdomen, for example, it would seem that there is a black band (bordered in white??). But is it really there or is this a shadow?

Second post
I posted a tighter crop with no sharpening and added remarks which I'll quote here.
"I don't think it was oversharpened but here it is unsharpened and cropped tighter. Since it is such a small subject the depth of field is very limited. The black band bordered in white on the abdomen is indeed there and is not a shadow. It is not as sharp as I would like as it was taken using natural light and any subject motion would cause it to go slightly out of focus."

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I see what you mean. So, just what in the world is that philodromid, then? The appearance seems unusual enough...
