an unusual pattern for 3rd instar!
I've been rearing
H. axyridis
this summer and I haven't seen any with this color pattern of abdominal tubercules - dorsolaterally orange but no dorsal orange. I'm assuming it's 3rd instar by the size and the extension of orange tubercules to the 4th abdominal section. But an unusual variation, I've not seen photos of this pattern either.
I'd be interested in images of adult
H. axyridis
from your area - of course, the adults are famously variable, but up till now I thought the larvae weren't!
