This beast was at the bottom of the pool. Have never seen this specimen before in 4 years of being in the desert.

Here's a reference page -windscorpions You probably have lots of them in Palm Springs. Might find them around lights at night.

Thanks for the quick reply, it turns it in was rather aggressive with the dog and ran into the pool, glad they are not poisonous; though quite menacing looking little buggers.

They can bite, but I suspect you'd have to handle or antagonize it for that to happen. A dog might get it on the nose.
