Finally a Forbes! - Rothschildia forbesi

Finally a Forbes! - Rothschildia forbesi
World Birding Center at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
September 27, 2008
After nearly three years in the LRGV, I had found a number of cocoons of Rothschildia, but had yet to find either the caterpillar or the adult moth. I still have not seen the cat, but I showed up for work one morning toward the end of September and *finally* found the moth! It was, of course, under the big light in the maintenance yard.
