Waterlogged Rosy Maple Moth - Dryocampa rubicunda

Waterlogged Rosy Maple Moth - Dryocampa rubicunda
Pickens County, Georgia, USA
May 27, 2009
Size: forewing length 20 mm.
I noticed this moth floundering around helplessly on the wet ground just after a rain shower.
It was quite soaked and seemed to have lost most of its wing scales, but otherwise seemed fine and could fly short distances.
I put it on the trunk of a maple, where it remained for a while drying off.

Comments/corrections appreciated.

Also, please feel free to frass.
