I saw 2 of these on this flower and one attacked a bee and drove it away.

see , the early summer cousin of the familiar late summer Pennsylvania Leatherwing. Nice find. Fills a gap we have had on the map for Indiana.

Family Cantharidae - Soldier Beetle i think
I'm not sure which one though. Here's a link with some pics -Soldier Beetles Hopefully one of the experts can tell you for sure. Some of them vary a bit in color, which is making it tough to peg.
