Robber Fly - Leptogaster flavipes

Robber Fly - Leptogaster flavipes
Shirley, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
June 20, 2009
Size: 13mm

Moved
Moved from Leptogaster.

The mainly yellowish legs
suggest this is Leptogaster flavipes, which happens to be the only genus Leptogaster listed for Mass.

Leptogaster flavipes
Norman and Cheryl, thanks for putting a species name to this robber!

Good thing you're looking at these. Thanks for the info Herschel.

I don't think
This is Tipulogaster Tom. Antenna and thoracic shield look wrong. Probably in true Leptogaster genus.
