It is Coquilletidia perturbans, you can tell by the color and the wing scales, although the poor bugger has lost a hindleg.

Poor bugger??
Said "poor bugger" was buried to its head in my skin at the time! :)

Sean, two items: 1) Why aren't you coming to the Bug Gathering??! We're not that far away from you. 2) You've done some superb mosquito IDing. Where do you prefer to find unIDed mosquitos: ID Request? Nematocera? Mosquitoes?

...
1) I can't make it as I have to be in New York State at that time. I hope you all have great time though. I am sure you will find some great insects.
2)I generally look for the mosquitoes under the Mosquitoes section. They are a bit of a frustrating group for ID from photos though, especially if there are not many angles shot. It is always far easier to ID them in the hand with a microscope. That being said, please encourage folks to photograph any mosquitoes they encounter. There should be some coming to the lights you bring. Basically every angle is useful for mosquito ID, especially hind tarsi, dorsal shot of abdominal tergites, and lateral shot of thorax. With some of them, shape of the the foreclaw is diagnostic, but this is rarely achievable with a camera.

I hope the gathering is successful.
