Black Beetle with orange spots -
Nicrophorus orbicollis
East Hampton, NY, Suffolk County, New York, USA
June 20, 2009
Size: approx 2 cm
found somewhat drowned in swimming pool skimmer.
Looks like a Scaphidium quadriguttatum to me. Is that correct?

This is a beetle in the family Silphidae, genus
Nicrophorus
