Probably Scolopendra polymorp
Probably Scolopendra polymorpha Wood, 1861, but there's an outside chance it could be S. viridis Say, 1821. I can't see leg spines in this photo to determine.

Yes,
I do count 21 pairs of legs on this image.

What species...
Lynn, I collected a centipede in 1988 at Silver City, New Mexico. It looks just like this photo. This is the only photo I have ever seen of it. I was never able to identify it as to species. It does have 20 prs. of legs(21 if you count the 2 at the tail) and 19 segments. The antennea have 20 or 30 segments. In it's preserved state it is 4-5/8" long (body only). It seemed much bigger when it was alive. I kept it alive for over 4 years, then added it's remains to my collection. I would like to complete my collection label. Thanks

Sorry,
Family level is as far as I can ID these. You might try contacting an extension office in Silver City?

Thanks Lynn
I'll see what I can find out on the net, since I won't be getting back out there. Thanks for your quick reply.

Thanks, Lynette
For taking a look and helping with ID.
