caterpillar-like insect on chokecherry leaf

caterpillar-like insect on chokecherry leaf
Saint Louis, Creve Coeur County, Missouri, USA
June 21, 2009
Size: 0.5 inches
I saw what appeared to be a tiny rolled up dead leaf on my chokecherry tree, but later I noticed that it was moving (very slowly). After about 3 hours of work it scraped off a circular piece of the green leave and appeared to be devouring it (although I couldn't see any distinctive mouth).

Neat photos
Looks like you caught a bagworm (Psychidae) in the act of adding to its case.
