(I'll delete most of these photos) This shot shows black at the end of the palps. Something this large couldn't be an immature male, could it?

Probably not, but a ventral view could confirm gender if an adult female.

I've given the spider to someone to try to identify. I don't know how long it will take, but maybe they can give me a definitive answer on just what the spider is.
