Spider - Cyclosa conica

I think this spider may have been about 1cm. I saw several on webs spanning gaps between rocks and trees, typically with remains of past meals hanging on the web below them. The shape of the abdomen is different than I've seen before, but I do not know how distinctive it is among spiders.

but reminds me of Cyclosa... Please wait for others to comment, though.

thanks for the suggestion, I think you are correct, given what I've been able to find. Furthermore, since it seems quite unlikely that this is a 800+ mile range extension, I think it's fairly safe to conclude that the species is C. conica.
