After revisiting this, I realized I made a mistake with the identification...based on color pattern, this fits more with C. loticus than with C. venustus. Both species are found in the southeast quadrant of the US.

Moved
Moved from Coptotomus.

indeed; male Coptotomus [?longulus]
nice series! hopefully, Tim Loh will tell sp. for sure

Either C. longulus or C. venustus
would like a ventral shot to tell for sure.

Thanks, getting
ventral.

C. venustus (Say 1823)
based on technical features on the underside (narrow mesosternal wing), overall dorsal patterning, and locality data. Thanks for the nice pics!

Thanks to both of
You for help here.
