Beetle ID request

Beetle ID request
East of Rangely, Rio Blanco County, Colorado, USA
June 20, 2009
Sorry for the poor image but it shows the shape of the antenna, legs and the eyes that appear to be on stalks. There were several of these beetles on carrion. When two would meet, it appeared they would fight face to face for a few seconds.

Looks like
a clown beetle (histeridae). Info here.

Definitely Histeridae, and definitely Saprininae. Can't tell much beyond that from this pic.

Thanks
to Domingo and Jeff for the ID.
