field cricket, right? - Gryllus veletis - Female
Merrimack, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
June 24, 2009
Size: ~1 1/4 in.
This is a field cricket right? First time this year I have caught one. I currently have it in a mini terrarium on my windowsill along with a leafhopper and a treehopper. Don't worry, I am letting it go tomorrow.

cricket pets + looks like a Gryllus
I've kept these guys all the way through winter. It was nice to hear the chirp, chirp when snow was coming down.

I think that's a Gryllus, field cricket, though I haven't seen any with brown wings before.
