Merchants Millpond State Park, Gates County, North Carolina, USA
June 23, 2009
When I first observed this egg it was pearly white & there were 2. That was about mid May. It's on a Virginia Creeper leaf.

Leaf-footed bug egg (Coreidae)
Acanthocephala and several other genera have similar eggs.
