The Beggar - Eubaphe mendica

The Beggar - Eubaphe mendica
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
June 27, 2009
Size: ~20mm in length
I saw this moth land on the underside of a leaf and managed to get it into a jar. After trying to take several photos in the jar and being not very successful, I opened up the jar and managed to get a few photos as the moth was coming out. It then very cooperatively landed on the stairs and stayed there for about 5 minutes.

Thanks for the ID. I continue to be amazed by the variety of insects that turn up in the yard.
