Size: BL = 4mm
Adult male. Identification based on match with palp drawing in Guide d'identification des Araignees (Araneae) du Quebec by Paquin and Duperre, page 235 (2003).

This one was caught in a pitfall trap set in tall grass at the edge of a lawn.

Nice find, John. Comparing your image (BTW, you might consider cropping a bit tighter so that more detail is visible) with Lissner's (http://www.jorgenlissner.dk/Thomisidae.aspx) one really begins to get a sense for what the male in this species looks like.

I know, but that's as close as I could crop it without losing detail! If you click on the image, though, you can see the larger version where more detail is visible. I will post a better picture if I find another one of these (this one is in alcohol now), since not all viewers have the option of looking at the larger picture file.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. Between you and Tom Murray and myself, we should have quite a collection of Xysticus/Coriarachne/Ozyptila specimens by the end of the summer.
