Spittlebug - Prosapia ignipectus

Spittlebug - Prosapia ignipectus
Greenfield, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
August 25, 2005
This one was all black dorsally.

Prosapia ignipectus
The bright red markings on the underside, particularly at the leg bases, distinguish this species from the dark variety of two-lined spittle bug, P. bicincta.

Finally
I got an identifiable image of the Red-legged Spittlebug. Thanks for this and the other ID's again Andy.
PS I got the booklet on leafhoppers, and you did a great job, especially with all the artwork. Thanks.
