Fungus longhorn - Strangalepta abbreviata - female

Fungus longhorn - Strangalepta abbreviata - Female
Wendell State Forest, Franklin County, Massachusetts, USA
June 28, 2009
Size: 13mm (approx.)
Apparently dead from fungus. Note the hairs emerging from the thorax.

(Image rotated. It was head down.)

Moved from Lepturini.

My vote is for...
...a pale Strangalepta abbreviata, based on the apparent lack of a distinct collar at the apex of the pronotum. Lightening the dark shadows in the photo might help show if this is true.

p.s. somebody in the previous comments needs to close an italics tag :)

don't think this belongs here; suspect Pidonia aurata

Female....
This is a female of Lepturopsis biforis, according to my Field Guide to Northeastern Longhorned Beetles by Doug Yanega.

something else?
looking at yanega and some beetles in my collection it could also be a very pale Strangalepta abbreviata. pronotum looks too round and smooth as compared to those other two species.
