Fancy beetle - Calligrapha alni

Size: 1/4 in
My girlfriend found this guy on some marsh grass while kayaking in a swampy area. Hard to get decent shots of him in the kayak but they came out all right. Ive never seen a beetle like this before and dont even know where to begin for family. Any help is appreciated.

Calligrapha leaf beetle
It looks like one of the Calligrapha leaf beetles. There are quite a few with different patterns in the guide. Here's an example of one of them.
