Bee Fly - Exoprosopa

Bee Fly - Exoprosopa
Texas Canyon, Dragoon, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
June 27, 2009
Size: 3/4 - 1"
This is a real beauty and one I have not seen before. It has been visiting a very small white weed flower for a couple days now right outside my house.
He is relatively large and beautifully marked. I'm thinking he might be in the Exoprosopa family.

Nice Series, Carol.
I think you're right on genus, but I have no idea of species. You'll likely get an expert ID on this one.

Bee Fly
Thank you Ron.
