Bee Fly - Exoprosopa

Bee Fly - Exoprosopa
Texas Canyon, Dragoon, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
June 27, 2009
Size: 3/4 - 1"
This is a real beauty and one I have not seen before. It has been visiting a very small white weed flower for a couple days now right outside my house.
He is relatively large and beautifully marked. I'm thinking he might be in the Exoprosopa family.

Believe it or not, this is an undescribed species of Exoprosopa which I hope to be giving a name soon.

WOW.
What a thrill!
