Looks like a first record for California on BG. Are the white patches on the hindwings due to wear? The other moths on here just seem to have white stripes rather than extensive white areas there.

 
No, the Hindwings are Quite Normal for this species.....
.... and helped me to ID it from specimens shown in MONA Fascicle 18.1 (1985) by the late Doug Ferguson, in which all species known at the time in this subfamily were described and illustrated.
