Invasion - Florinda coccinea

Invasion - Florinda coccinea
Hebron, Boone County, Kentucky, USA
August 27, 2005
There were hundreds of these tiny webs all over our yard, neighbors yards, etc this morning. In all of the ones I examined in our front yard, there were these tiny red spiders. Any information? Thanks!

There are tiny red spiders
in the Linyphidae, though we don't know if they are the same as yours. You can find images and comments in the guide here. Roy says they should begin appearing again in Kentucky in September on this image , so the timing is perfect! And lovely dewdrops, too!

Thanks!
Much appreciated. I don't think I'll be going barefoot in the grass anytime soon though. :)
