Shiny Spider - Philodromus marxi - male

Shiny Spider - Philodromus marxi - Male
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
June 7, 2009
Size: .5" legspan top to bottom
I see these little spiders occasionally, and it seems sometimes that their bodies are a metallic fuschia instead of this metallic green. Often fast-moving and hard to photograph, this one actually stayed still long enough for me to get a shot.

Definitely a crab spider by the legs and I would guess that it is a Metallic Crab Spider: http://bugguide.net/node/view/104816 I had never seen one before but doing a search on shiny crab spider got me nothing so I tried metallic and Voila!! Cool looking. First one for Virginia, too.
