Bristletail - Trigoniophthalmus alternatus

Bristletail - Trigoniophthalmus alternatus
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
July 1, 2009
Is it Trigoniophthalmus alternatus? The coloration looks a lot like this one in the Guide:

It was on the Rubbermaid shed-thingy on my patio tonight.

Trigoniophthalmus alternatus
This does look like Trigoniophthalmus alternatus (Silvestri 1904). The scales on the antennal flagellum place it in the Machilinae. As far as I know, T. alternatus is the only species in the subfamily recorded from your area. See Wygodzinsky and Schmidt (1980).
