Size: typical ladybug size
A little online research makes me wonder if this is Chilocorus stigma or kuwanae. I also have photos of the larvae.

I just found pupa and newly emerged adults in my yard this past weekend, in Boca Raton, FL. The photos I took were of a beetle similar in markings to this one, but I saw others with yellow and black carapaces as well.
