As fun as it was to capture the mating (?) ladybugs, I am more interested in the tiny things on the bamboo around them. Are these insects? Some kind of aphids or scale? It seems likely they are the ladubugs' prey. Whatever they are, they are all over the bamboo except the brand-new shoots, where they are fewer but still present.
