Hanging Thief Robber Fly - Diogmites properans

Hanging Thief Robber Fly - Diogmites properans
Daphne (Village Point Preserve), Baldwin County, Alabama, USA
July 3, 2009
Is this Diogmites a male? Perhaps D. neoternatus?

Moved
Moved from Hanging-thieves.

I believe this is
Diogmites properans. D. missouriensis is similar but does not, I believe, have the dark marking over the dorsum of the abdomen.

Moved
Moved from Robber Flies.

Definitely
Not neoternatus. Moving to genus for later study.
