First of these I've seen at Irvine Regional Park - Bagrada hilaris
Irvine Regional Park, Orange, Orange County, California, USA

However, I haven't been there as much this year as last. First sighting, recorded here, was at Peters Canyon Regional Park, a few miles down the road. Generally, these guys are found on mustard. This one was on encelia.

(Written later) I saw my first at UCI Arboretum on July 6, 2009. It was a nymph.
