July 4, 2009
Size: 1/8 is size of beelte
I found both male and female of the gold beetle under a leaf of a vine in my garden mating. I noticed they change color when disturbed to a red color. They are very beautiful and such a true golden shiny silver look depending on the light that hits them and it was that in which they caught my eye when i was weeding. I have not seen then before and I wish to know their name.

thank you
thank you for the names of these beetles. I had kepted them for 2 days in a jar and now i will set them free as i am done observing them and I noticed they love sex as they have been at it for 2 or 3 days now and take brakes away from eachother then hours later go back to it. they should be called love beetles.lol
