Yucca bug?? - Climaciella brunnea - female

Yucca bug?? - Climaciella brunnea - Female
Roscommon, Michigan County, Michigan, USA
July 4, 2009
Size: wasp size
I saw this bug laying eggs on my yucca plant and found it very strange. It has a head and front legs that look like a praying mantis with a very long neck and a body colored like a wasp. I have never seen one like it before.

It was there for over 24 hours laying eggs, at least that is what it looked like it was doing and my taking pictures of it didn't seem to disturb it at all.

Any ideal??

Mantidfly
I think these are one of my favorite insects. They are incredibly tame for an insect. For the past three years I have come across one of two of them around this time of the year. Just found the most recent one two days ago.
