One of the boring beetles in Clytini? I don't know if the association with the leaking, rotting, and highly borable tree was coincidence.

You must be right - the old t
You must be right - the old tree had just lost a major portion of it upper structure and this could have been the result of the borer. The folded legs of the speciment match the picture.
