Chrysalis - Danaus gilippus

Chrysalis - Danaus gilippus
Ft. Pierce, St. Lucie County, Florida, USA
August 27, 2005

For a really golden chrysalis,
check out the asian Large Tree Nymph butterfly here

WOW!
Wow that's amazing! I've heard of the butterflies but I never seen the pupae before!

Monarch Butterfly Chrysalis
This chrysalis belongs to a monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus). See for comparison.
