I have taken videos of behaviors like this. They complement the still photography, don't you think?

 
Yes I did
take a few videos of insect displaying some kind of behavior. All the wasp did was clean its legs. This lasted just long enough to get to get it in focus and it was over.

you are correct, it is a Pompilid... and looks like an Anoplius. not sure i can do any better, even with nice pictures like this. i will look into it.
