Catepiller with "spikes" - Euptoieta claudia
Fort Bragg, North Carolina, USA
Size: about 2 inches
I found this in my flower garden. This catepiller can do some serious chowing down on leaves.
In the sun you can see blue on the "spikes". I do not know what the proper term would be for them all over the body.
