June Bug ? - Popillia japonica

June Bug ? - Popillia japonica
Seymour, Tennessee, USA
July 6, 2009
I'm wondering if this is what we call a June Bug, arriving a bit 'late' lol
Also, if somebody could tell me what kind of damage these do to flower gardens, if any. The back is an iridescent green.

:-)
Usually people mistake green june beetles for Japanese beetles! LOL!

Japanese beetle - seconded
Popillia japonica it is

Japanese beetle
