This was a fairly large fly. Any help appreciated.

Sericomyia sp. Syrphid
Martin Hauser: "it is an Eristalini, genus Sericomyia. But I doubt that it will stay in this genus, because it is different from the other Sericomyia's, but for now it is in this genus, but it is a very distinct northern species...."
