American Carrion Beetle
July 4, 2009 Saw three American Carrion Beetle in a field of Queen Anne's Lace, Black Eyed Susans and Fleabane about 2 to 4 feet off the ground near the Jacks Fork River near Eminence MO each of them would take to flight. No evidence of a dead animal nearby. I noticed an under wing flash of yellow on the back of the abdomen as they flew which appeared to be 2 yellow length stripes.
