Painted Lady
You can tell in two ways. The dark bar that forms a loop on the forewing from near the body to the forward edge is connected instead of seperated midway as it would be in American Lady. Also AL has a small white dot in the large orange cell on the forewing, Painted doesn't have it.

Note the differences between yours and
