Blue Mud Wasp - Chalybion californicum
Charlottetown, Queens County, Prince Edward Island, Canada
July 1, 2009
Size: 2-2.5cm
These were numerous along one wall of a university (of Prince Edward Island) building, and were present with a much larger sphecid (Sceliphron caementarium, black and yellow mud dauber), which were also numerous.

This is indeed Chalybion californicum.
