The references I consulted for the guide do indicate it is found west to Texas.

4 subspecies now
A recent revision of the genus recognized/proposed four subspecies [all of somewhat questionable value in my view] - if memory serves, this would be E. fulgida fuscocyanea Casey 1915. I don't think there is any point in adding these to the guide.
