This planthopper is the orange-stiped variety, which mimics a distasteful beetle, Cryptocephalus sp.

"P. atra albovenosa"
"Subspecies" are geographic segregates of a species that hybridize wherever they come in contact with each other. Since the variety "albovenosa" is found together with the black form "atra" throughout the range of the species, these are variants of the same species, NOT subspecies.

On the species page, I've re-written it as
Phylloscelis atra
[var. albovenosa] instead of italicizing all three words.
