I am curious about the red markings ...
... on the scutellum. I have not seen them on the animals in my surrounds, Chamblee, GA. Regional variant/subspecies.

Here's one from Texas with the red, and one from Georgia where it's nearly invisible. It looks like it's there, but much more muted. The stripes also vary in color from yellow to orange, even locally.

Some I do right away, others not. It just depends on what it is. I don't always know for sure, and in this case am curious about the "emissions" droplets.
