Baton Rouge - BREC Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA

First molt today!
Now those leaf legs are showing.
No molt when checked on 7/8 at 8:30 AM
Molted and turned mostly black at check at 7/8 3:30 PM.

Note that the shed skin has little hairs just like the real bug.
As usual, it is astonishing how that big bug ever fit into that skin.

For reference:
The first egg shot was taken at 11:30 AM on 7/3
The second egg shot was taken at 4:30 PM on 7/4
The first shot after hatching was 7:50 AM on 7/5

We got over 2 inches of rain in the last several days.
After the first hard rain, I found 2 on the original plant.
I moved them to a screened terrarium, potted a few of the plants and brought it under the eaves of the visitor center.
They were moved on the afternoon of 7/6.

On the morning of 7/7 I saw the 3rd bug on the same type of plant just 6 inches from the original plant with eggs.
I left it in the wild.
I could not find it today, 7/8.

By the way, both bugs in the terrarium molted today.
I did not see it happen.

Any idea how many molts to expect?
3-5?
About how long between molts?
6-7 days?
