full of blood version looks a little different. I assume that's photographer blood. I just went through the same with a different skeeter(s).


 
Yes, Aedes albopictus
The bold, white stripe down the middle of the thorax is diagnostic of the species. The only similar species is Aedes agypti, with a lyre-shaped series of stripes and curves on the thorax.
