New drone fly to ID - Helophilus

The yellow stripes made me notice this drone fly hovering around. I managed a few shots of it. This one looks to show the most markings and wing pattern. ID would be great if anyone knows anything about it. Thanks.

Helophilus?
This looks like it could be something in genus Helophilus, though I couldn't tell you what species. There are some good reference photos of the genus here.

syrphidae
I think that "drone fly" now commonly refers to the species Eristalis tenax only - not Syrphidae in general. Syrphids in general are called flower flies or hover flies.

Drone fly
Strickly speaking you are right, though sometimes all syrphids with rat-tailed larvae or all Eristalis species are refered to as drone flies. Just our luck with vernacular names: no true ruling authorities for most groups of insects.
